This year just keeps being the shitty year all year round. After spending the entire month of July lying in bed because of my leg I also spent most of August in bed because I got sick. This summer just wasn’t for me.
One of the good things that happened during the month of August was my re-read of The Earthsea Cycle books. If you don’t know what Earthsea is, it’s the cycle of fantasy books and short stories written by Ursula K. Le Guin about the imaginary world of Earthsea. Most of the books follow Ged, first as a young student of wizardry and latter as a wizard but there are other characters as well.

As with Eragon books I read in July and at the start of August, it was both refreshing and comforting re-reading these old teenage classics. It was a long time ago the last time I read Earthsea so I forgot a lot of details. Even though Earthsea books are fairly short (compared to some other fantasy books) they still manage to convey a compelling story.
If you like Name of the Wind you will probably like this one as well.
