Hello Autumn!
It’s finally here, the most majestic time of the year – the autumn. If you couldn’t tell by the over-enthusiastic intro I love autumn, it’s my favorite season. It’s still warm but not too warm, it’s chill but not cold. Not to mention that it’s the harvest season as well.
Five glorious things to do this fall:
- Learn how to knit or crochet
- Drink cozy autumn drinks
- Go for a walk or a hike in nature
- Read a book set in autumn
- Bake an autumn pie
I don’t know about you but I enjoy living in a continental climate where we get a fair share of varying weather and temperature. Just as October starts you can actually feel the change from summer months into winter months and it’s rather exciting. I always wonder how different seasons feel for people who live in climates where there isn’t such a dramatic change of weather. If you live or come from such climates please tell me in the comments below.
Here are some things I would very much like to do this fall:
1. Learn how to knit or crochet
Recently I became obsessed with knitting and crochet. Ever since I learned how to knit last month I can’t put it down. Knitting is a very calming and inspiring activity. The next thing I want to learn is how to crochet. I’ve seen some amazing crochet projects I want to try. Plus, there is nothing better than staying indoors knitting, and sipping on your favorite autumn drink.
2. Drink cozy autumn drinks
Do you have a favorite autumn drink? Maybe a pumpkin spice late or hot apple cider. I know I like to experiment with new flavors every October. Sometimes I stick with classic caramel mocha but sometimes I try new things from the coffeeshop menu such as Cardamom Late. Tell me what is your favorite cozy autumn drinks in the comments, I’m willing to try something new.
3. Go for a walk or hike in nature
Walking is still tricky for me as I’m still walking with a cane because of my injury but I’m utilizing every minute I spend outside. Go for a brisk walk in the autumn setting or even better indulge yourself and go for a nice hike in nature.
4. Read a book set in autumn
Autumn always reminds me of libraries, classrooms, textbooks, and mysterious hallways. Maybe because autumn marks the start of the new academic year. This year I want to read a book that happens during the autumn. Several of my friends recommended that I read The Secret History by Donna Tartt and that seems like the perfect book for the setting I keep envisioning in my head.
5. Bake an autumn pie
And last but not least, baking an autumn pie.
Autumn is the time of harvest so there are many amazing things ripening during the autumn months. I’m already thinking about pumpkin, apple, and pecan pie. There nothing better than a slice of pie, a cozy autumn drink & a good book.
Have a lovely autumn everyone. Stay safe, make some food, read a few books, maybe go outside or try a new hobby. Let me know about your favorite autumn activities in the comments. See you soon.
